DEVECO TRI 108

 

Deveco Tri 108 can be used at 3 to 5% as a single-dip low-corrosion trivalent liquid chromate that produces a clear blue bright chromate conversion coating on electroplated zinc and delivers up to 48 hrs protection to white corrosion in salt fog testing when operated per recommended conditions.

 

Deveco Tri 108 can also be used at higher concentrations, ie. 9 to 11%, with the additive - Deveco Tri-Kote Hardener at 2.5% to make a high-corrosion trivalent chromate on zinc plate that exceeds 120 hrs protection to white corrosion in salt fog testing.

 

Deveco Tri 108 can be used on barrel and rack zinc plating lines.  It is equally effective on all electroplated zincs ranging from alkaline non-cyanide to acid chloride processes. 

 

Deveco Tri-color Concentrates can be added directly to the chromate bath for a single-step colored chromate film.

To lower the pH upon make-up, use Nitric Acid.  To raise the pH, use 50% Caustic Soda

 

ANALYSIS:

1.       Add a 100 mls sample of the chromating solution into a flask.

2.       Add 1 to 2 mls of phenolphthalein.

3.       Titrate with 1.0 N Sodium Hydroxide solution to a pink end-point.

NOTE:  The sample will become cloudy before the endpoint is reached.

 

Mls 1.0 N Sodium Hydroxide = % Deveco Tri 108.

 

CAUTION:  In case of contact, flush contaminated area with a large amount of water.  When handling this product, protective clothing, i.e. rubber apron, gloves, boots, and goggles should be worn.
