DEV-KLEEN 256

Dev-Kleen 256 is a heavy-duty, all-purpose, liquid alkaline cleaner designed to remove stubborn soils from ferrous metals in both soak and electrocleaning operations.  As a strong alkaline cleaner, Dev-Kleen 256 will typically remove cutting oils, drawing and stamping compounds, coolant residues, buffing compounds, dirt and metal fines.

Dev-Kleen 256 is low foaming and therefore can be used in both rack and barrel operations.

DEV-KLEEN 256 AS SOAK CLEANER:                           2 – 8%

DEV-KLEEN 256 AS ELECTROCLEANER:                      4 – 10%

Temperature                                                      150 - 180°F

Time                                                                 1 - 4 minutes

ANALYSIS:

v Take a 10 ml sample of the solution.

v Add about 50 – 70 mls DI water.

v Add 3 or 4 drops of phenolphthalein indicator.

v Titrate with 1.0 N Hydrochloric Acid (HCl) until the solution turns clear.

Calculation:  %Deveco 256 = 2.5 x  mls of HCl used

CAUTION:

This product is extremely caustic in nature.  Contact of the solution with skin or eyes should be avoided.  In case of contact, flush contaminated area with a large amount of water.  When handling this product, protective clothing, i.e. rubber apron, gloves, boots, and goggles should be worn.
