DEV-KLEEN 251

Dev-Kleen 251 is a low-temperature, heavy-duty highly alkaline liquid cleaner designed to remove all types of soils from ferrous metals. 

As a strong alkaline soak cleaner Dev-Kleen 251 will typically remove cutting oils, drawing and stamping compounds, coolant residues, buffing compounds, dirt and metal fines.  The particular wetting agents used in Dev-Kleen 251 provide fast wetting and lead to the rapid loosening and dispersing of dirts, greases and oils.

Dev-Kleen 251 has the following advantages:

MAKE UP:       

Dev-Kleen 251                          3 to 5%             Soak cleaning

Dev-Kleen EA (To Emulsify)        0.3 to 0.5%

or Dev-Kleen SA (To Split)          0.3 to 0.5%

Temperature                              110 to 160 ^oF.    130 to 140 ^oF (optimum)

Time:                                        2 to 6 minutes  

TITRATION:

Ø Take 20 ml sample.

Ø Add 50 - 70 mls of DI water and 3 or 4 drops of phenolphthalein.

Ø Titrate with 1.0 N Hydrochloric Acid.  End point:  pink à clear.

Calculation:     Mls 1.0 N HCl X 1.11 = % of Dev-Kleen 251

CAUTION:

This product is extremely caustic.  Gloves and goggles should always be used when handling this product. In case of contact with skin or eyes, flush immediately with cold water and contact physician.
