DEV-KLEEN COMBO 609

Dev-Kleen 609 is a mildly alkaline, medium silicated alkaline cleaner.  Dev-Kleen 609 high detergency package makes it suitable for use as a spray, immersion soak or ultrasonic cleaner. 

Dev-Kleen 609 can be used on a variety of substrates, including aluminum, copper, brass, zinc die cast and lightly soiled steels.

OPERATING CONDITIONS:

Make-up:           Spray                                        2.0 - 4.0 oz./gallon

                        Immersion                                 3.0 - 6.0 oz./gallon

                        Temperature:                             140 - 200 ^oF

Note:    In spray applications, Do Not operate below 140 Deg.F. or excessive foaming may occur.

CONTROL PROCEDURE:

Titration Analysis Method:

1. Pipette a 1 ml. sample of the solution into an Erlenmeyer flask.

2. Add 5mls DI water and 4-5 drops of Methyl Orange indicator.

3. Titrate with 1.0 N HCl. End pt: Yellow à Rose

Calculation:     Mls. 1.0 N HCl multiplied by 0.16 = oz. per gal. Dev-Kleen 609

Test Kit Analysis Method

1. Use the syringe to transfer 3 cc of the sample to a clear glass bottle.
2. Add about 2 - 4 drops of Methyl Orange indicator to the sample.
3. While “swirling” the solution, add 1.0N hydrochloric acid (HCl) dropwise until the solution turns clear.  Make note of the number of drops used.

Calculation:  # of drops 1.0 N HCl divided by 3 = oz/gal Dev-Kleen 609
